Epiphone J-200 EC Studio Parlor Vintage Sunburst 2025 Electro-Acoustic Guitar

This is an Epiphone J-200 EC Studio Parlor electro-acoustic guitar in Vintage Sunburst finish. Made in China in 2025, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Solid Spruce top, Laminated Ovangkol back & sides, Hard Maple neck and 20 fret Pau Ferro fingerboard with matching bridge. The body is double bound in white, with multi-stripe purfling to the top along with a tortoise pickguard & Abalone rosette. A Bone saddle & nut are fitted, along with a set of Gold Grover Mini-Rotomatic tuning machines. A Fishman Sonicore undersaddle piezo is installed, and is wired to a Fishman Presys II preamp with controls for master volume, bass, treble, phase reverse & an on-board tuner.

The Hard Maple neck plays very well, with the ‘Rounded’ profile filling the hand nicely for a substantial yet articulate playing experience across the register. The nut width of 1.69” offers ample string spacing without feeling cumbersome. The Pau Ferro of the fretboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its traditional 12” radius & medium frets is well equipped for a wide range of playing styles & techniques. The baby jumbo or parlor body size is nice & comfortable in the arms, offering an easily manageable playing experience in both seated & standing positions.

The acoustic voice of the Epiphone J-200 EC Studio Parlor is bright & crisp, with plenty of top end sparkle thanks to the small stature of the body & the use of Spruce for the top. The mid range is smooth & round, whilst the low-end is understated whilst remaining accurate. The Solid Spruce top projects very well, and produces an impressive amount of volume & dynamic range for such a small instrument. The on-board Fishman electronics faithfully convey the acoustic voice of the instrument in both live & recording situations, whilst the on-board tuner improves the practicality of guitar.
