Sigma SDM-18 Natural Gloss 2016 Acoustic Guitar

This is a Sigma SDM-18 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar in Natural Gloss finish. Made in China in 2016, this guitar consists of a Solid Sitka Spruce top, Solid Mahogany back and sides, a Mahogany neck, and a 20-fret Ebony fingerboard. Other appointments include Grover Nickel Open-Gear tuners, a Bone nut and saddle, and an Ebony bridge.

The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the ‘Low’ profile sitting very comfortably in the hand and providing easy fretting and ergonomic thumb positioning in all registers. The Ebony fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, offering a smooth and durable playing surface, and with its 12” radius is comfortable and practical across the register. The Dreadnought body shape is comfortable in the arms, with the all-solid construction ensuring a resonant and lively experience for the player.

The voice of the SDM-18 is rich and warm, the Solid Mahogany back and sides provide a silky smooth bass response that remains detailed and accurate across the dynamic range. The mids are punchy and clear, and add a warmth and clarity to the tone. The top end is sparkly and bright, adding a glistening quality to every note played on the instrument. The dynamic range of the SDM-18 is impressive. Gentle playing is rewarded with a very tender and soft tone, ramping smoothly up to the rich, loud chord strumming sound that the Dreadnought is renowned for.
