This is a Sterling By Music Man JV60 James Valentine Signature Electric Guitar in Black finish. Made in Indonesia, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising a Swamp Ash body, Roasted Maple neck and 22 fret Roasted Maple fingerboard. Other appointments include a Hardtail bridge & locking tuners in Chrome, along with a pair of Sterling by Music Man designed pickups, with a humbucker in the neck and single coil in the bridge. These are wired to a 3-way blade switch, master volume with a Push/Push 12db boost and a master tone control.

The Roasted Maple neck sits comfortably in the hand, with a profile closely resembling a ‘C’ shape. This neck profile and the satin finish provide a smooth and articulate playing experience up and down the neck. The Roasted Maple fingerboard is pleasant to the touch, and with its 9.5” radius makes bending and vibrato techniques a breeze, whilst offering a nice balance between comfortable chord playing and practicality for quick lead lines. The narrow frets enhance vibrato techniques at speed whilst also providing a rock-solid and smooth playing experience.

The Sterling Humbucker pickup in the neck provides the player with a thick, warm voicing, with a distinct top-end that is articulate and well-defined. The single-coil bridge pickup provides a fat and punchy Telecaster-like sound, making power chords sound gritty, whilst also providing soaring lead tones. However, with subtler amp settings the bridge offers a bright, glassy clean tone. The middle position provides bright trebles and full warm bass, and lends itself well to rhythm tones. The added Push/Push 12db boost on the volume control is an incredibly handy tool for when you need your lead lines to cut through the mix.
