Taylor GTe Blacktop 2022 Electro-Acoustic Guitar

This is a Taylor GTe Blacktop Electro Acoustic Guitar. Made in the USA in 2022, this guitar consists of a Solid Spruce top, Solid Walnut back and sides, a Tropical Mahogany neck, and a 20-fret Eucalyptus fingerboard. This instrument is outfitted with a Tusq saddle, Black Tusq nut and Taylor sealed tuning machines. This guitar is equipped with Taylor’s Expression System 2 behind-the-saddle piezo pickup and on-board preamp, with discreet shoulder mounted controls for master volume, treble and bass.

The Tropical Mahogany neck plays very well, with Taylor’s signature profile feeling nicely rounded in the hand and offering a smooth and responsive playing experience in all registers. It’s certainly a profile that the majority of players will appreciate; substantial enough to sustain a comfortable grip for chord playing whilst being slim enough for articulate lines and fingerpicking. The Eucalyptus fretboard is pleasant under the fingers, falling somewhere between Rosewood and Ebony in both aesthetic and tonal qualities. The traditional Taylor 15” radius delivers a nicely flat and consistent playing surface right the way up the register, well suited to a wide range of styles and techniques.

The voice of the Taylor GTe Blacktop is bright and detailed, and is equally at home as a solo instrument or part of an ensemble. The low end is unpronounced yet detailed, the mids are smooth and the treble frequencies are sparkly, colouring every note played on the instrument with a rich brilliance. Taylor’s Expression System 2 faithfully conveys the voice of the instrument in both live and recording situations, with the on-board controls ensuring that you remain in full control of your tone.
